From Ms Allum
What an extraordinary year we have all had! It has tested and fortified us and reminded us of the strength and security of being part of this embracing community. With an instinctive urge to hit the “re-set” button on 2020, I would encourage you to resist for a moment and acknowledge the snippets of unexpected joy that have peppered your year; it may be spending more quality time with your family or getting around to “that” project when you “had the time” or just reading a book for fun! I have found joy being surrounded by you all- staff, parents, Old Girls and friends. Your love, support and ability to adapt almost instantaneously have inspired me to persevere with reinvigorated purpose.
As I wrote in Light Works earlier this year, “In this time of uncertainty there is one element of stability and that is the SCEGGS spirit…” which is evident in this collection of memories, stories and wishes collated for our 125th birthday. Thank you all for your contributions!
Like most of 2020, our celebrations did not eventuate as we had planned, but I am not disappointed with how we have been able to commemorate this milestone.
I hope you enjoy browsing this site, looking back and finding joy and inspiration for the future.
You are welcome to add to the collection by contributing your SCEGGS memory here.
Best wishes
Jenny
