“It was a very long and lonely first week, as Miss Badham and the governess took turns in teaching me. I wonder what the present girls would think if they had to wear our uniforms or saw the School – no grounds at all, and such hard forms to sit on, but it was a very happy school. After a year we moved to “Chatsworth”, Macleay Street, a lovely old home with garden running down to the water, where we had our own swimming pool, tennis court and boat.”
